Hi, I have just been referred for physiotherapy for my plantar fasciitis and I am having my first session tomorrow. Is this likely to help me? Does anyone have any experience with physiotherapy? I have only had plantar fasciitis for about a month now, so it is very new to me.

    Thank you.

    Hi PJ
Physiotherapy is the most common treatment for plantar fasciitis. It is the general practice of active recovery including stretches, foot strength exercises and more non invasive treatments.
For me it worked great. Statistically it does work for 95% of the plantar fasciitis patients. The problem is that it takes time until it really starts to help (usually a few weeks) in which the pain is still there.
You will get some info about what to do as self treatment and you can consult you therapist about other self care techniques you are interested in - you can find more info about self care in our website in the treatment section. Be persistent an patient with Physiotherapy and the pain will go away.
    Take care

I learned many things from my PT sessions including my favorite stretching techniques which help me very much.
I am stretching three times a day and I think that this is what made my feet better. I am stretching my feet and my calfs every time and once a day I stretch my legs too. Usually not more than 5 minutes each time. I love to stretch and I got so used to it that I feel bad if I miss it.
    Hope you already feel better

My physio thought me how to tape my foot.
    It is my favorite treatment.
    I will never forget him.
